The Titans meet on Screen for the first time since 1963.

The first BIG movie of 2021 hits theaters and HBO Max — but does it live up to the hype?

Man, the build up to this movie has been as massive as the two titans who are featured on the screen. Really, the hype began just as soon as 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters wrapped up and hinted toward the two biggest attractions in the world of Kaijus going head to head. It felt like we were waiting for the great Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson to step into the ring. …

It’s here — but is it better?

Anyone who has followed the DCEU films knows by now how we have arrived at this place, and why it is so significant for those who have been there since 2013’s Man of Steel. Zack Snyder has been at the helm for two of the tent pole films of this universe, and both of them have been met with mixed reactions, and sometimes just downright bad reviews. But in 2017, the culminating event was to take place and everything was supposed to be made right. …

Is it really as bad as everyone says?

Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Salma Hayek all return for the sequel to the 2017 film.

In 2017, movie going audiences were treated to The Hitman’s Bodyguard, featuring Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Salma Hayek. For me, the film kind of came out of nowhere. There didn’t seem to be a lot of fanfare for it, but it raked in a lot of cash at the box office — bringing in $176.6 million, and people generally seemed to really like it. So you knew the sequel was bound to happen…And here we are, with The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard.

Shortly after I saw this movie — I started…

Michelle Pfeiffer is good…The Movie? Eh, Not so much.

Michelle Pfeiffer stars is the strange film.

Whew boy, where to begin on this one? Strange. Confusing. Weird. Dry. Did I say strange?

First, look at the movie poster I’ve included with this review. Go ahead. Notice any common theme in all the quotes above the image? Everyone agrees that Michelle Pfeiffer (and some of the cast) is fantastic in this film. Notice anything else about those quotes? Do you see any that say this movie is a “must watch,” or anything close to it being a good movie? Yeah. Me neither. There’s a reason for that.

In the 80’s Schwarzenegger and Stallone ruled the action box office. Rambo, The Terminator, Predator, Commando, Cobra — all of them known now as “classics.” At the time, I remember not being able to watch them because they were rated R, and had too much blood, violence and language for me to get past the parental units. Now when I watch them, I doubt they would even get a PG-13 rating, unless they had too many F-bombs in them. They don’t seem to hold up all that well. Nowadays, the unquestioned version of those guys on…

Marvel really hasn’t had many missteps. The only chapters in their releases that I didn’t really care for were the Iron Man Sequel and the first two Thor movies. Other than that, they’ve been pretty much money in everything they do. 2018 has proven to be more of the same, with the release of the massively successful “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Infinity War” movies, Marvel has proven they have plenty of life left. Now with the release of “Ant Man and The Wasp” make that 3 or 3 on the year. For me, the first Ant…

Three years after the events of “Jurassic World” — we have Fallen Kingdom. The hype and build up for this movie has been enormous. It seems like the previews started coming out just a couple of months after the re-boot / fourth installment of the series came out. The question I had after seeing “Jurassic World” was how can they keep this whole thing fresh? “World” sort of felt like a newer version of “Jurassic Park” — much like “The Force Awakens” seemed like a replay of “A New Hope”

The characters were different and things…

2004 was a long time ago…14 years to be precise (you’re welcome). That’s when we last heard from “The Incredibles,” a family with super powers forced to hide everything they could do and blend in with society because they were deemed too dangerous — in spite of the good they could do.

It seemed like after that movie was released we were set up for a long run of Incredibles movies similar to Toy Story, or other well-known Pixar / Disney animated releases. Heck, it even ended on a cliff hanger — leading us to believe…

I’m writing this movie review late for a reason…I wanted to see if a theory that I’ve believed for some time is actually true in regards to movie reviews and how the media portrays them.

The short answer to that theory / question is: YES.

Here’s the theory: In spite of what fans think, in spite of what the rotten tomatoes score it has, and in spite of what otherwise might be true to your eyes — the media already has its mind made up in regards to a movie’s quality and how it should perform…

I believe it was President Abraham Lincoln who said, “10 years ago and 18 films ago, Marvel Studios brought forth in theaters, a new cinematic universe, conceived in creativity, and dedicated to the proposition that movies should be fun and entertaining, and make lots of money…” Or something like that. …
